“Saw you park in a handicapped spot and go into Walmart. Handicapped my [expletives]. Took a photo of your car + license plate. Look 4 it on Facebook,” the note read.
The letter writer apparently didn't believe that the driver – Ethan Schlemer, an amputee with a prosthetic leg – was disabled. Schlemer, who works as a pharmacy technician at Walmart, found the note as he was heading in, according to KDVR.
Schlemer also has a disability placard.
According to KDVR, Schlemer battled cancer and had his left leg amputated above the knee about two years ago but still does normal everyday activities and worked hard to be able to get around.
Schlemer says some days are harder than others.
"Definitely some days I'm limping more," Schlemer told KDVR.
He added: "Maybe some people would question why I park there, but to me, I never know when I'm going to take a wrong step or hurt myself, and I'll be thankful when I do that I did park that close."
As of Thursday night, Schlemer had not found any photos of his license plate on Facebook.
"I just wanted people to realize that when they do something like that they might not know the whole story behind what's going on," Schlemer told KDVR.
