A contract delivery driver for Amazon is out of a job after police say she stole a dog from a Weatherford, Texas, home and tried to sell it online.

KTVT reported that Parker County Sheriff's Office officials said a 2-year-old dachshund named RJ ran out of its owner's house and across the front yard when a door was opened.

Parker County Sheriff's Office Deputy Danie Huffman told CNN 22-year-old Mycah Keyona Wade was in the neighborhood on July 5 when she saw the dog and took it from the street in front of the home.

Surveillance video in the neighborhood, as well as an investigation by Parker County Sheriff's Property Crimes, led authorities to Wade, according to the Weatherford Democrat.

"There was no contact information, but we're pretty sure it was RJ that was for sale on Craigslist for $100," Parker County Sheriff's Property Crimes Investigator Ethan Stark told the Weatherford Democrat. "The ad immediately changed once I contacted the suspect."

Wade was arrested July 16 on a class B misdemeanor count of theft of property, Huffman told CNN.

RJ was reunited with its owner, Amanda Phillips, July 9.

"This does not reflect the high standards we have for delivery service partners. We're glad the customer has been reunited with their pet, and we have been in touch with them to make it right," a spokesperson for Amazon said in a statement about the incident. "We take these matters seriously and these individuals are no longer delivering Amazon packages."
