Amazon is going to be hiring. This time the online retail giant will be adding 800 tech jobs in Texas. Specifically, the jobs will be at the hub already located in Austin.

The new office will open next year at a tower that's currently under construction. Hiring will be over the next several years, The Austin American-Statesman reported.

Amazon already has more than 6,600 on staff in Austin, broken down by 1,000 corporate workers, 3,000 at warehouses in the area and 2,600 dedicated to Whole Foods, according to the newspaper.

The new jobs once online will focus on software and hardware engineering, research and cloud computing devices, the Statesman reported.

Amazon officials told the newspaper this expansion is not related to the pullout from New York and HQ2.

Arlington, Virginia, will still serve as the Seattle-based company's second headquarters, the Washington Post reported.
