A man wanted for murder in North Carolina was nabbed early this morning sleeping on the beach in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Kenneth Stancil III is accused of shooting and killing an employee at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, N.C., Monday morning.
According to a report from North Carolina's WNCN, Stancil was found asleep on the beach by beach patrol officers.
Stancil was arrested around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday after he was found sleeping on a beach in Daytona City. Stancil was approached by Volusia County Beach Patrol officers for violating the city's no sleeping on the beach ordinance.
Stancil is accused of shooting and killing Wayne Community College employee Ron Lane on Monday. A relative of Lane's said that Lane had to fire Stancil, but police have not said if that's why Lane was killed.
Stancil's mother, Debbie Stancil, said Lane "made inappropriate sexual advances toward him," which upset her son.
Stancil will now face extradition to North Carolina to face charges.
