A second shark attack in two days left a teen injured on the Outer Banks Saturday afternoon, ABC affiliate WVEC reported.
The victim is an 18-year-old male, according to a spokesperson.
He was swimming with several others when the attack occurred but no other swimmers were injured. The victim received various injuries to his right calf, buttocks and both hands.
The National Park Service received a report from the Dare County Sheriff's Office that EMS units were responding to an injured person on the beach near Waves. Ocean Rescue Squad paramedics and NPS Rangers responded to the scene and found a the teen who had sustained injuries from a shark.
He was treated at the scene and then transported by helicopter to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
A 47-year-old man was bitten when he was out swimming in Avon Friday. He received various injuries to his right leg and lower back.
