One hundred students at a Tennessee high school will not be able to take part in their graduation ceremony after a senior prank goes wrong.

According to WVLT, it all happened last week as a normal senior prank that was supposed to be fun and harmless.

Students at Sequoyah High School in Madisonville, Tenn. told the station they were instructed by sheriff's deputies and the school resource officer not to destroy property or steal anything, so the prank would be ok.

The first group of students went through and did traditional pranks, but it was a second group, that showed up in the early morning who took it too far, WVLT reported.

Garbage cans were dumped, urine, and baby oil, smeared on the walls, and crickets and chickens released into the school.

Booby traps of marbles were set in front of doorways and items were stolen from lockers, students said.

Since the prank went too far, the school superintendent announced that all students who took part were banned from graduation.

One student, who was part of the first group, is upset that she is being punished for what the others did.

Meanwhile, the students are not the only ones being punished.

WVLT reported that the school resource officer James Fisher, who allowed the students into the building, was fired for his involvement. According to the sheriff's department, Fisher was seen on video opening the building, carrying items into the school for the students, and leaving while they were still inside.

The high school's principal, Gary Cole,  is also suspended indefinitely and he is under district investigation for his role.
