A 2.56 magnitude earthquake was recorded near a tiny South Carolina town Monday night.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake’s epicenter was near Summit, South Carolina, whose population — according to the 2010 census — was 402.
Summit is part of the Columbia, South Carolina, metropolitan statistical area and is in Lexington County.
Multiple reports from the area confirmed people felt shaking and hearing a loud boom.
