A Kentucky nurse who finished her 36-year career on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic won $200,000 on a scratch-off lottery ticket on the same day she retired.

The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the lucky ticket for $10 at a Double Kwik convenience store in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, according to WKYT.

She played the Tree-Mendous Winnings ticket before leaving the store, the station reported. She first realized she was a winner because she had matched up the No. 20 on the last row, but then came an even bigger surprise when she scratched off the prize amount, which was $200,000 — the game’s top prize.

“It was unbelievable,” she told WKYT. “I had just retired that day. I saw this as a sign it was meant to be for me to quit working.”

The winner drove to lottery headquarters in Louisville last week to cash in, according to WSAZ.

Not one to wait for monthly checks, the woman took a lump sum payout of $142,000 after taxes, the station reported.

There was no word on what she planned to do with the money.

The store where she bought the lucky ticket will receive a $2,000 bonus, reports said.
