“Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek has given an update on his health while promoting a special series of upcoming episodes.
In a new video posted on the game show’s official Twitter page, Trebek shared that he’s growing out his facial hair as he typically does when the show isn’t taping. He also said he’s doing well as he continues treatment for stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Trebek even took some time to write a memoir, which will be released July 21.
“I’m doing well,” said Trebek, who revealed his diagnosis in March 2019. “I’ve been continuing my treatment, and it is paying off, though it does fatigue me a great deal. My numbers are good. I’m feeling great.”
The 79-year-old host filmed the video as he took a break from taping new openings to old episodes of “Jeopardy!”
“For the first time ever, we are going to open the ‘Jeopardy!’ vaults and take another look at some of our favorite episodes, including the very first ‘Jeopardy!’ show I ever hosted, mustache and all,” he said.
Those retro episodes start Aug. 20.
