The Grammy Awards, scheduled for late January in Los Angeles, have been postponed to March due to the coronavirus surge, multiple news outlets reported Tuesday.

The Grammys had already planned on a limited show for 2021, forgoing an audience and only allowing presenters and performers on-site during the show, Rolling Stone reported.

Nominated artists wouldn’t have been allowed on-site, either, according to Rolling Stone, likely leading to a situation similar to the 2020 Emmys. Nominees appeared and accepted awards remotely.

The 2021 Grammy nominations were led by Beyoncé, who earned nine nominations. Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and Roddy Ricch followed with six nominations each.

California has seen a surge in COVID-19 cases after Thanksgiving and the holiday season, setting a single-day record of 74,000 new cases Monday, according to The Los Angeles Times.
