It's the kind of love Atlanta can do without.

For the second year in a row, Atlanta is the No. 1 city for mosquitoes, according to Orkin LLC's list of "Top Mosquito Cities." The list is based on the number of mosquito customers Orkin serviced in 2014.

With its warm temperatrures, it's no surprise that more than half of the top 10 cities are in the South:

1. Atlanta

2. Chicago

3. Washington

4. Detroit

5. Houston

6. Raleigh – Durham, N.C.

7. Boston

8. Dallas – Fort Worth

9. Charlotte, N.C.

10. Nashville, Tenn.

Mosquitoes are more than just annoying.

“Their bites can cause allergic reactions and spread diseases, which means families need to take precautions against mosquitoes when outdoors in their own yards and around their communities, as well as when they travel," said Entomologist and Orkin Technical Services Director Ron Harrison, Ph.D.

Here are five ways to avoid mosquito bites.
