More than five dozen people were displaced in weekend apartment fires in Cobb and north Fulton counties, officials said.

The latest blaze swept through a building at the Deer Trail apartments in Milton about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the city said in a Facebook post. The details of what led to the fire are not clear. Crews from multiple agencies, including the Roswell, Johns Creek and Cherokee County fire departments, helped Milton and Alpharetta firefighters bring the flames under control, according to the post.

The American Red Cross of Georgia was called to help the displaced residents, the city said.

The Red Cross also helped 23 people who were displaced after a Saturday evening blaze in Cobb County, agency spokeswoman Sherry Nicholson said.

The fire broke out about 6:45 p.m. at the Village at Lake Park apartments, she said. It is not clear how the blaze started.

Ten units were damaged during the fire, Nicholson said. The Red Cross assisted all of the residents of those units with temporary shelter, food, clothing and personal care items.
