A second round of heavy rain and possible severe storms is expected in metro Atlanta Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening.

The potential for large hail and damaging wind is high, and the chance of isolated tornadoes is moderate, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan.

Metro residents could see downed trees, power outages and wind and hail damage, he said.

The first round of rough weather that began late Friday reportedly resulted in lightning strikes that damaged two Douglas County homes. No one was injured in the fires, Douglas County Fire/EMS Chief Scott Spencer said.

Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 70s on Saturday. High temperatures Sunday are expected to be 80 degrees.
