Expect a wet Christmas Eve as rain showers ease into metro Atlanta Monday and hang around through Christmas Day, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.

“The rain’s going to hold off until hold off until Monday morning, but we’ll start the day with some showers, not a total rainout, but we will have rain showers and the temperatures should get up to 60,”Nitz said.

The chance of rain increases to 60 percent Christmas Eve and 80 percent Christmas Day, he said. Even storms are possible Tuesday. A break in the clouds is expected Wednesday, NItz added.

Daytime high temperatures will drop back to the mid 50s Wednesday. Nighttime lows will be in the low 30s Sunday and rising to mid to low 40s Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
