Metro Atlanta residents will find comfortable weather continuing through the holiday for the unofficial end of summer.
“The nice trend continues,” said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon. Monday morning gets the holiday going with temps in the low to mid-60s and no chance of rain.
“For your Labor Day, it looks like a great day to get the grill going, but you might want to do it a little bit early on before those temperatures really start to heat up,” Deon said.
Monday’s high is expected to reach 86, with temperatures by noon already hitting 80.
The dry air is expected to stick around, with humidity levels not increasing until later Tuesday. And with the moist air, that means the chances for scattered showers and pop-up thunderstorms are expected to return by midweek.
Fewer families are expected to hit the road this holiday weekend because of the pandemic, but the Georgia Department of Transportation is still suspending interstate construction projects that require lane closures until 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Major highways that typically receive heavy tourist traffic will also have limited lane closures this holiday weekend, GDOT said.
