A mother who walked 26 miles trying to find help for her family is recovering from frostbite.

Karen Klein and her family got stuck in the snow on a highway in northern Arizona.

She started walking Thursday.

Searchers found her the next day.

"I kept thinking this isn't how my life is supposed to end. My son needs his mother, my husband needs his wife," Klein said.

Her husband and son were rescued after they managed to find cell service and called 911.

The family was on its way to the Grand Canyon when their GPS directed them onto a remote road covered in snow.
