Milton High School has a new interim principal after the resignation of the former principal who had DUI related arrests in two counties over the weekend.
Former Milton High Principal Ron Tesch will take over the position after Nathan Buhl resigned.
Tesch served at the helm of Milton for 12 years before retiring at the end of the 2010 school year, according to a 2010 proclamation by the city of Milton. During his tenure, ACT and SAT scores steadily rose, and the school collected championships in six sports.
Tesch has been the principal of three Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence — Ann Arbor Huron High School in Michigan, Edina High School in Minnesota, and Milton, which received the honor in 2008.
He was also named a “Georgia High Performing Principal” by Governor Sonny Purdue and was appointed to the Georiga Principal’s Advisory Council.
In 2010, the city of Milton dedicated June 21 of that year as Principal Ron Tesch Day.
