The Trump administration has lifted restrictions preventing local law enforcement agencies from receiving surplus military equipment like armored vehicles and grenade launchers.

For years, Georgia state and local police have made use of the decommissioned gear. Some $61 million in items have poured into the state since 1993, according to records reviewed by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
