Mike Luckovich finishes his Round File for October 2019

I Liked this idea, but went with another idea.

This is the one I went with.

This is my hope. Decided to do something else.

So, my rough sketch which I showed my editor, was different than this. I drew Mark Zuckerberg as Dracula, biting the neck of Lady Liberty. My editor reminded me that Nazis used to depict Jewish people as blood suckers. Mark Zuckerberg is Jewish, plus this Sunday, when it was supposed to appear, marks the one-year-anniversary of the mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue. It would have been terrible if that had run. Thank goodness for my editor!

I liked this idea, but it was a little similar to one I did last week.

I liked this one, but I worried it might offend Muslims.

Trump is a wuss. Let’s dictators boss him around.

I liked this one because I got to draw Peanuts characters.

I had better ideas on Trump and the GOP so I didn’tdraw this one.

I was actually gonna do this one for Thursday, but late that afternoon it became apparent the Braves were gonna choke, so I switched topics.

This is the one I ended up doing.

Trump’s greenlighting the slaughter of the Kurds by Turkey is a betrayal of one of our best allies who lost 10,000 lives fighting Isis alongside U.S. troops. And I thought caging children was going to be the lowpoint of Trump’s reign.

Lame coverup. Went with something else

I almost did this one. I like it.

I kind of liked this one too.
