Man wanted in Gwinnett deputy-involved shooting arrested

The man who Gwinnett County police said was the driver who triggered a deputy-involved shooting earlier this week was arrested Wednesday night.
Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said warrants were issued Tuesday charging 26-year-old Marc Black with aggravated assault upon a police officer.
About 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Gwinnett sheriff’s deputies saw Black being driven away from a home in Flowery Branch.
A traffic stop was initiated and Black, who was a passenger in the car, was taken into custody and transported to the Gwinnett County Jail, Pihera said Thursday.
Gwinnett and Walton County deputies were attempting to serve a misdemeanor warrant at a home on Braselton Highway on Monday night when they encountered a car in the driveway. The car — occupied by three people and believed to be driven by Black — circled the house and was approaching authorities in the front yard when one deputy fired a single shot, police said.
The vehicle, which is believed to have been stolen out of Florida, left the scene but was recovered about a mile away. Police do not believe anyone was wounded in the shooting.
Two women in the vehicle during the shooting have been cooperative and will not be charged, Pihera said.
