A man died early Friday after being stabbed on a residential street in southwest Atlanta, authorities said.

Few details have been released, but Atlanta police said the victim was discovered shortly before 2:30 a.m. outside a home in the 700 block of Bonnie Brae Avenue. Officers responded to the neighborhood after receiving a call about a “person down,” Atlanta police said in a statement.

The victim, later identified as 56-year-old Daniel Taylor, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It’s unclear if any suspects have been identified, and investigators said they were still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors.
