South Fulton police are looking to identify a man wanted for questioning in a shooting that left a 17-year-old dead last month.

Officers responded to the shooting in the 5500 block of Oakley Industrial Boulevard about 6:45 p.m. Aug. 16, authorities said in a Facebook post.

They arrived to find a teen on the ground with a gunshot wound, South Fulton police spokesman Lt. Jubal Rogers said. The victim, identified as 17-year-old Ke’Sean Palmer, later died of his injuries, according to police. It’s still unclear what led to the incident, but witnesses told investigators they saw a man in a red hoodie shooting at the scene.

A surveillance photo that appears to have come from a convenience store shows a man with shoulder-length dreadlocks wearing a red hoodie matching the description given by witnesses.

Anyone who recognizes the man or knows his whereabouts is asked to contact South Fulton detectives. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
