A Fulton County jury has convicted an Atlanta man in a 2012 killing in College Park.

Brendan Riley, 24, was found guilty of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses in the shooting death of Glentis Wheeler, 44 on Sept. 12, 2012.

Wheeler was shot and killed while siting in the driver's seat of his SUV, the Fulton County district attorney's office said.

Investigators determined that Wheeler, who operated an unofficial taxi service to earn extra money, had given Riley and another man a ride to the College Park location. They argued and, authorities said, Riley pulled out a gun and shot Wheeler in the face, then fled.

Neighbors reported seeing the shooter run and Riley was later identified in a photo lineup and arrested.

Riley was sentenced to life in prison plus five years by Fulton County Superior Court judge Henry Newkirk.
