Clayton County police are searching for clues after a man was found shot to death Sunday afternoon on a Riverdale-area road.

Few details have been released, but police said the victim was discovered about 12:45 p.m. when officers responded to a call about a “person shot” along Ga. 138.

“Officers located the victim laying on the ground with a gunshot wound,” Clayton police spokeswoman Officer Halekia Helm said in a news release. “The officers checked the victim for a pulse and (were) unable to find one.”

Authorities have not released the man’s name or age, citing the ongoing investigation. It’s still unclear if he was killed on the road or shot somewhere else before bring brought there, Helm said, adding there is “no clear motive” for the shooting.

Clayton County police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 770-477-3550.
