Atlanta police are investigating the shooting death of a man Friday night in southwest Atlanta.

Police spokesman John Chafee told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that officers responding to an 8:15 p.m. call about a person shot in the 1100 block of Ira Street found a man dead on the sidewalk. He had multiple gunshot wounds.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Dontacus Rosser, 32, of Atlanta.

A motive for the shooting has not been released.

Chafee asked that anyone with information on the shooting contact investigators at 404-546-4235 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
