A 21-year-old man was killed Saturday when he was struck by a tree limb as he was cutting branches, police said.
The man, working for Atlanta Trees, was wearing safety equipment to keep him from falling, so firefighters had to be called to get him out of a tree on the property of an uninhabited house on Malone Circle in Fairburn, police Sgt. Anthony Bazydlo said.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
Parents accused in child’s death remain in jail
A Gwinnett County couple accused of starving to death a 10-year-old girl will remain in jail.
A Gwinnett judge denied bond Friday for Eman and Tiffany Moss, saying they were flight risks who had the potential of committing future crimes, court officials said.
Both are charged with felony murder, first-degree child cruelty and concealing a death in connection with the death of Emani Moss.
The actual cause and manner of Emani’s death remains undetermined as investigators await the results of a toxicology report, authorities said.
In early November, police found Emani’s burned body in a dumpster near the apartment where she lived with her father and stepmother, who subsequently were arrested.
Court records show a history of cruelty and abuse accusations dating to when Emani was an infant. Tiffany Moss was previously arrested on cruelty charges involving the girl.
