A 23-year-old man died after a shooting early this morning at a Gwinnett County motel.

Paris Brown was taken to a hospital about 2 a.m., just before emergency crews responded to the Quality Inn located on Venture Parkway in unincorporated Duluth. Brown, who died from his injuries about 10 a.m., was taken to the hospital by the person who called 911, according to a news release from the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Officers responding to the scene found several witnesses, but most were “generally uncooperative,” according to the release. In addition to the homicide, detectives are investigating the possibility of gang activity.
