A Roswell man was arrested on a murder charge early Thursday, months after a shootout left two men dead and two others injured at a Clayton County mobile home park.

Alberto Ayala Penaloza, 20, was taken into custody at his girlfriend’s home in Tucker, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said Friday in a news release.

Penaloza was sought in connection with the Nov. 15 shootout in the 500 block of Museum Circle, authorities said. Clayton County police were called to the Melrose Mobile Home Park about 10:20 p.m. and found one victim dead at the scene, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

A second victim died later at the hospital, Clayton County police spokesman Officer Aubriel Stroud said at the time. Two others were injured in the exchange of gunfire.

The two people killed in the shootout were identified by police as Carlos Rebolledo and Everardo Esparza, both 34-year-old men from Jonesboro.

In a news release, Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill said homicide detectives recently identified Penaloza as one of the shooters and obtained warrants for his arrest.

The 20-year-old is charged with one count of murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, online records show. He remained at the Clayton County Jail on Friday evening without bond.
