A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in DeKalb County earlier this month was arrested on Friday in College Park.

Reco Rodriges Hart, 18, is accused of the murder of Adunte Carr during a May 15 “shootout” on Boulder Walk Lane, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, whose fugitive squad made the arrest without incident. Hart was also shot during the May 15 incident that involved three other people who were all in the same automobile, agency spokeswoman Cynthia Williams said.

Hours after the shooting, DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that officers responding to 9:45 p.m. reports of shots fired and a car accident in the 1500 block of Key Road found an overturned Nissan Sentra.

She said a man found dead inside the car was later determined to have died from a gunshot wound. A 28-year-old man located outside the car had also been shot, and was hospitalized in critical condition. A third man connected to the scene was found outside a home on nearby Foxhall Lane, also suffering from a gunshot wound, Parish said. That man, an 18-year-old, was also in critical condition at the time.

Parish said a fourth man found near the scene had not been shot, and detectives were “working to determine if he is connected to the shooting.”

Hart is being held at the DeKalb County Jail.
