An Acworth man is charged with murder after police said he shot his wife early Sunday morning, killing her.

Quintarias Beck, 34, also faces several other charges, including aggravated assault, in connection with the death of Adrienne Rush, Acworth police spokesman Capt. Mark Cheatham said.

The fatal shooting happened at a home in the 4900 block of Parke Brooke Drive about 2:40 a.m., Cheatham said.

When officers arrived at the scene, 32-year-old Rush was suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where she died.

It is not clear was led to the fatal incident, but Cheatham said Acworth police identified Beck as the gunman. He was taken to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he remains.

In addition to murder and aggravated assault, he is charged with battery, cruelty to children and possession of a firearm during a felony.
