A man is behind bars months after police said he opened fire on two people following an argument outside a northwest Atlanta business.

Jeffery Alexander Cash Jr. was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting, which happened in the 2100 block of Verbena Street on Christmas Eve, according to Atlanta police.

Investigators said two women were involved in an argument in the area about 9:30 a.m. when Cash and his father arrived. One of the women’s siblings was able to break up the fight and convince his sister to leave, police said.

“As the two individuals were driving away from the scene, Mr. Cash (Jr.) fired multiple shots towards the vehicle that they were in, which caused damage to the vehicle and minor injuries to one of the occupants,” police said.

Authorities identified Cash as a suspect and took out warrants for his arrest. His father, Jeffery Cash Sr., was arrested Dec. 31 on two counts of aggravated assault, according to Fulton County Jail records. He was released on bond Jan. 6.

On Monday, Cash Jr. was booked into the jail, where he remains. He faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal damage to property.
