Investigators say a Kansas man went to extraordinary lengths to end a woman's pregnancy.
Scott Robert Bollia, 30, allegedly served a pancake laced with an unnamed medication to kill the fetus.
Bollig is facing first-degree murder and several other charges for allegedly grinding up the medication and sneaking it into the meal.
The Salina Journal reports the expectant mother, Naomi Abbott, may have suffered other serious side effects in addition to the end of the pregnancy.
Abbott was between 8-1o weeks pregnant when the incident occurred in late January. Abbott is said to have suffered "great bodily harm," according to the investigator's report.
Bollig is now out on $500,000 bond awaiting a first appearance before a judge.
