A 9-year-old boy says he did his best to prevent a would-be carjacker from driving away with his little sister in the backseat.

“He came running up; jumped in the car,” Brannon Brown told Channel 2 Action News. “He put it in reverse, tried to back up, and I shoved it back in park.”

But the man was able to drive away from Greenwillow Way in the black 2003 Acura with the 5-year-old girl inside Monday afternoon, according to Clayton County police.

“He backed up and the door hit me, and I fell down,” Brannon said.

The man, who has not been identified, let the girl out of the car a few miles away and she was reunited with her mother and brother. The children were not seriously injured.

Investigators have not yet located the Acura or the person who allegedly stole it, Channel 2 reported. The Acura’s tag number BSX7763. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
