A 22-year-old Atlanta man was arrested Thursday in Fayette County in connection with nearly three dozen car burglaries in Fayette County.

Randen Morris was arrested in the Bankhead area of Atlanta, after authorities used surveillance footage to connect him to the burglaries, according to a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

“This quick arrest would have not occurred without our partnership with the U.S. Marshals Office and their continued hard work for us all in the metro area,” Sheriff Barry H. Babb said in a prepared statement.

Fayette deputies had been looking for a suspect since July 20, after a report that approximately 22 vehicles had items missing in the Shenandoah Estates subdivision off Old Highway. All of the burgled vehicles seemed to be unlocked at the time of the thefts. Later that week, another 12 vehicles were entered in the nearby Newton Plantation subdivision.
