A mother in middle Tennessee was driving to her parents’ house Sunday when her tire blew out, and she was stranded on the side of the road with her kids in the car, according to WKRN.

Fortunately for Courtney Potts, she didn’t have to wait long for help to arrive, WKRN reported.

Potts was stopped on a curve in Columbia, Tennessee, southwest of Nashville, when someone jumped out of a pickup truck behind her. Much to Potts’ surprise, it was country star Luke Bryan, a native of Leesburg.

“He was like, ‘Hey, I almost hit you! This is a really bad road; we’ve got to get out of this curve,’” Potts told WKRN. “I knew his voice, and I was like, ‘OK, this is happening!’”

Bryan, who lives nearby on his 150-acre farm, stopped to help while he was on his way to hunt with his kids, WKRN reported.

Potts posted a video on TikTok of her chance encounter with Bryan, who attended Georgia Southern University before embarking on his professional music career. The video had more than 3 million views earlier this week.

“He didn’t act like a celebrity, not even a little bit. He just looked like anybody else that would have pulled over,” Potts told WKRN. “Him being from the South, he knows people would have stopped, but he chose to stop even when he was busy, and I am just so grateful to them.”
