A Floyd County man spent a sleepless night after watching a lottery drawing on television and realizing he was a winner.

“I was dumbfounded, I didn’t sleep,” said William C. Cameron III, 68, of Rome. “It was a big adrenaline rush.”

Cameron was one of two players to each win a $215,694 jackpot prize by matching all five numbers from the July 17 Fantasy 5 drawing.

Cameron, a grandfather of two, claimed his prize Thursday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.

He said discovered his prize while watching the televised drawing.

Kangaroo Express #3655. 2401 Garden Lakes Blvd. in Rome, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. The second jackpot winning ticket was sold in Atlanta.

The married father of two adult daughters anticipates traveling with family.
