Three Henry County schools were temporarily placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon due to a reported armed robbery in the area.

Dismissal was delayed for Eagle’s Landing middle and high schools and Flippen Elementary, and law enforcement will assist, the school system said.

The alleged robbery happened at a convenience store at the intersection of Jodeco and Tunis roads, the school system said.

The armed robbery happened at the Shell station in the 3400 block of East Jodeco Road, according to Sgt. Joey Smith with Henry County police. The suspects are believed to have fled in a Jeep Cherokee, Smith said.

The lockdowns were lifted after police determined the suspects were likely out of the area.
