Neighbors and visitors stroll during the 2nd Friday Art Stroll in Castleberry Hill. Neighborhoods within three miles of downtown Atlanta gained 10,000 people with 4-year degrees from 2000 to 2009 -- a 61 percent increase. Most U.S. cities experienced a similar trend, but Atlanta outpaced all but a few of them.
