Cynthia D. Wright has been elected to be the next chief judge of Fulton County Superior Court.

Wright will become chief next May and succeed Doris Downs. Wright has been a Fulton Superior Court judge since 1986 and is now one of three Family Court judges who hear domestic cases.

In a statement, Wright said a priority will be working with the county commission and the Legislature to address funding issues. "If we join hands with each other we can't point fingers," she said.
