Friday may be April Fool's day, but the flood of people expected to pack downtown Atlanta for several big events this weekend is no joke.

Wrestlemania at the Georgia Dome, a volleyball competition at the Georgia World Congress Center, a show for women's and children's apparel at Americasmart and the opening of the dolphin exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium could bring almost 150,000 people to the heart of the metro area. The events will be a boon to hotels, restaurants and retailers still recovering from the economic slump that started three years ago.

Lauren Jarrell, spokeswoman for the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, said the convergence of activities is what keeps visitors coming to Georgia's capital. She said it won't hurt that the aquarium and its AT&T Dolphin Tales was featured on "Good Morning America" on Thursday.

"These are the things that people move to a big city for and Atlanta has them," she said. "Use your back yard."
