Wreath-laying ceremonies scheduled for local cemeteries

The annual Wreaths Across America ceremony is set for Saturday, Dec. 11 at Marietta National Cemetery and Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

The ceremony is held at cemeteries nationwide each year on the second Saturday in December and honors deceased members of the military with wreaths laid on their graves. The local ceremonies begin at noon and will feature the dedication of seven ceremonial wreaths representing each branch of the military. An additional 1,500 wreaths will be laid on graves in Marietta, and 3,000 wreaths will be laid in Canton.
