Woodstock residents have only a few more days to enroll in the Woodstock Citizens’ Public Safety Academy, an opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the city police and fire departments.

Classes will meet for 11 weeks, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Aug. 15-Nov. 7. Participants will cover such topics as police patrol and criminal investigations, fire safety, traffic issues, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.), fire search and rescue, extrication and police accident reconstruction, and judgmental shooting.

Applicants must be at least 19 years old; live, work or have an expressed interest in Woodstock; have no felony convictions; and have no criminal misdemeanor convictions within the past year.
