Woodstock police charge Forest Park man with child molestation
Woodstock police have issued an arrest warrant for a 24-year-old Forest Park man after a 15-year-old girl told detectives she had been intimately involved with the man.
The girl told investigators that she had been involved in a sexual relationship with Michael Steven Haywood, who, at the time was 23 years old, Woodstock police spokeswoman Brittany Duncan said.
"At the time these allegations were made, Haywood was out of jail on bond for an unrelated charge of statutory rape," Duncan said.
Haywood is being charged by Woodstock police with three counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, child molestation and aggravated child molestation.
Duncan said the girl told investigators that she met Haywood in May and that the two arranged to meet the next month at the Columbia Creek apartment complex in Woodstock on three separate occasions.
"She stated that on two of those occasions, Haywood took her to a residence in Cartersville to engage in sexual acts," Duncan said.
