The Woodstock City Council has OK’d a series of changes in its sign ordinance — with more on the way.
The Council Monday signed off on several amendments regarding billboards, pole signs and electronic signs. Included are provisions on how the size of monument signs are computed, restrictions on pole signs, and one specifying that all freestanding signs should be monument signs. Changes were also made to language surrounding granting variances to the ordinance.
Community Development Director Brantley Day said the changes are an initial step, with staff expected to bring forth additional proposed changes to sign regulations in June. He indicated some of the June proposed changes will have to do with electronic and LED signs.
