A woman who was shot in a dispute with her boyfriend early Wednesday has died from her injuries, Atlanta police said.
The pair got into an argument around 5 a.m. because the woman didn't want the man to leave the house on Stafford Street off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, according to Atlanta police Capt. Van Hobbs.
Hobbs told the AJC that during the altercation, the woman pushed the man to the ground and jumped on him. As the two were wrestling on the ground, a gun in the man's pocket discharged.
The bullet went through the man's leg and into the woman's chest, Hobbs said.
The man and woman, whose names have not been released, were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where the woman later died. The man was being treated for his wounds. His condition was not immediately available. Charges are pending, police said.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office Wednesday afternoon identified the woman as Darine Vincent, 24, of Atlanta.
