DeKalb County police were investigating a homicide scene Tuesday.
Mekka Parish with DeKalb police said a maintenance man at the Villas at Druid Hills Apartments observed the body of a Hispanic female inside an SUV.
The woman appears to have been shot.
Police are canvassing the apartment complex Tuesday to determine if anyone heard or saw anything that may help in the investigation.
The apartments are located at 3183 Buford Highway.
A resident of the apartments, Katrina Robinson, told an AJC reporter the shooting victim was a neighbor.
Robinson's friend, Ro Helterbrand, said the shooting has her on edge.
"This is scary," said Helterbrand. "We're two females. We live here and it doesn't sound safe for us ... we're going to have to keep looking over our shoulder."
