A Cobb County woman is accused of stealing a wallet during church and then using the victim's credit card at Target, police said.

On May 23, the victim contacted police to report her wallet missing after she attended First Baptist Church in Woodstock, according to Brittany Duncan, spokeswoman for Woodstock police. When the victim contacted her bank to cancel her credit card, she was told it had already been used at the Target in Woodstock for a $76.40 purchase, Duncan said.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect, Melissa Rodriguez, after reviewing surveillance video from Target, Duncan said.

Rodriguez, 37, of Marietta, turned herself into police Friday and charged with theft by taking, financial transaction card theft and financial transaction card fraud, police said.

Rodriguez was released from the Cherokee County jail after posting $655 bond, according to the sheriff's office.
