A $50,000 Super Max The Money lottery ticket was sold at Chos Texaco Food Mart in Norcross. The winning ticket was paid Aug. 31, 2016, after being purchased at the 30071 retailer.

The lucky ticket was one of at least 221 winning Super Max the Money tickets claimed in the metro Atlanta area from July to October, according to data from the Georgia Lottery Corporation. The lottery provided data on prizes exceeding $600.

At least $107.8 million in winnings was claimed during that time from tickets sold at area stores .

All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K program. Check out winning numbers at http://www.ajc.com/lottery.
