A $50,000 Powerball lottery ticket was sold at Citgo Food Mart in Decatur. The winning ticket was paid Oct. 14, 2016, after being purchased at the 30034 retailer.

The lucky ticket was one of at least three winning Powerball tickets claimed in the metro Atlanta area from July to October, according to data from the Georgia Lottery Corporation. The lottery provided data on prizes exceeding $600.

At least $107.8 million in winnings was claimed during that time from tickets sold at area stores .

All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K program. Check out winning numbers at http://www.ajc.com/lottery.
