By a vote of 4-2, the Roswell City Council has elected Marie Willsey its mayor pro tem.

Willsey won office last fall to represent Roswell Post 4. She will preside at council meetings when Mayor Lori Henry is absent. Henry succeeded longtime Mayor Jere Wood, who did not seek re-election.

Willsey's campaign website describes her as a "wife, mom, volunteer (and) marketing professional." A Roswell resident since 1993, she has served as president of the Horseshoe Bend Community Association, with the Fulton County Arts Council, as chair-elect of the Roswell Arts Fund marketing committee, and on the Roswell Planning Commission.

Besides Willsey and Henry, Roswell on Jan. 8 installed council members Sean Groer, Post 3; Matthew Tyser, Post 5; and Matt Judy, Post 6.
